Surgry and Legs 06/14/2010

Hey,

Well I had surgery on June 4th and I had some problems. My blood was really thin and the surgeon was worried so we had to stop the surgery early.  The surgeon then sent some blood work off to see what was wrong, everything came back normal. So we rescheduled the surgery to try again. So we just had surgery on Saturday, June 12th. Now I have a back stimulator in and I’m still here =).

Last Friday I was raised another 6 inches on my stubbies. I now stand about 5 foot 6 inches.  I am looking at getting feet this week. I am excited to go buy a new pair of shoes again. Then my C legs are right around the corner. I am hoping to be up on them in the next 2 to 3 weeks. One last thing we posted a new video of me walking on the taller legs. Thanks again for all the support.

Colton,

You stand much taller than 5'6". Trust me...people look up to you for inspiration and hope. Press on!

Colton and Jessica,

We are glad that the procedure has gone well and hope that it will have lasting and good results. We are so pleased that you are gradually getting more of your life back. While continued recovery is almost a full time job, we hope that you two will continue to think about your future i.e. what it is that you want to be doing in years to come, where you want to work and such things as that. You might also consider how much medical maintenance your body will require over the years to come and if you will be able to receive the same quality of continued long term care if you decide to leave the Air Force. We continue to keep you in our prayers.

I am so proud of you. I would really like one of the bumper stickers. And I am pretty sure my mom and dad would want one too. I went high school with you. I was a grade or two ahead of you but still remember you.
