Ski Trip 12/11/2009

Sorry that I have not updated for so long. I have been really busy. The week after Thanksgiving I had a really busy week. I got a chance to go see where I might work after I rehab. I am in Colorado right now. I learned to mono ski on Monday. I had to cook a healthy meal for the people that came with us in our group. Starting on Wednesday I really started to get the hang of mono skiing. Thursday I went down a harder slope that was a blue. I made it down it without falling. I have the best instructor in the world. I would like to get a mono ski they are very fun and exciting.  Mono Skiing has been the best thing ever; it has made me feel more free than anything else since the accident.

WOW! I was just talking about you! We were saying how you take the negative and turn it into a positive! Then I look at your site & see you're out there skiing for cryin' out loud! Good for you!

All my best to you and Jessica!

Colton, I came across this tonight. I wanted to share it with you. You know that I think you and Jessica are a true inspiration to people all around you for the challenges you two have faced, and continue too. I know you are a fighter - and I know if ANYONE is going to make their dreams come true, it will be you.

Often your tasks will be many, and more than you think you can do often the road will be rugged and the hills insurmountable too but always remember, the hills ahead are never as steep as they seem, and with faith in your heart start upward and climb 'till you reach you dream.

For nothing in life that is worthy
is ever too hard to achieve if you have the faith to believe for faith is a force that is greater than knowledge or power or skill and many defeats turn to triumph if you trust in God's wisdom and will for faith is a mover of mountains, there's nothing that God cannot do. So start out today with faith in your heart and "climb 'till your dream comes true"!

I love you guys, and I am always here for you.

Colton - you are awesome! You have a great strength and passion for overcoming this tragedy. We can all learn from you and Jessica.

I am very proud of you both and every chance I get, I tell everyone how wonderful you two are for at such at young age, you have had to bear so much and have handled it all with so much maturity and grace. God certainly is watching over you and has a greater mission for you in mind!

Love and hugs, Nanny.

Dear Colton - I've been following you (hehehe) and am SO happy to see you are doing well - SKIING??!!! Wow! I have 2 sons in the US Navy and there is a website - Navy For Moms - where we try to send some love to our military men and women...we consider them all our kids.

I wanted to let you know of a young Marine who was injured in Afghanistan on October 28th by an IED. He lost both of his legs. He just arrived at Brooke Army Medical Center. You are such an inspiration and thought maybe you could send some his way?

If you are in a position to do so, please email me at grayhousehold@att.net and I'll give his information.

Best wishes and holiday greetings to you and your loved ones! ~Kerry Gray
