Hey,

I want to tell everyone that I really appreciate the comments left on this website. Well I will get in to the interesting stuff. Jessica and I moved into our house yesterday. We had to rent some furniture untill ours gets here. The past two days have been wonderful for myself. Here on Ft. Sam Houston this week we had a U.S. Paralympics camp. Yesterday I learned and played vollyball while sitting, it was real neat. I was really sore the night after!!!! lol  Today was the day I have been really really looking foward to. I learned how to use a hand cycle. I LOVED IT!!! I met this really nice guy that is on the Paralympics team, and I think I would one day like to try out for the Paralympics team. In the afternoon we went to archery and that was OK. But I then went and threw javelin and oh my goodness that became my second favorite thing after cycling. If I dont make the cycling to the Paralympics I would definatly like to do that. I am hopefully going to get my liners next week =). But thanks for all of the support you guys have gave Jessica and I. I love the comments that you guys leave.

Bye,
Colton

Colton, It's so wonderful to know that you and Jessica are now in your home and that you're feeling well enough to do all the things you talked about. I had gallbladder surgery the same day you did, so I know exactly how long it has been and you are AMAZING!!! Your strength, faith and determination are an inspiration to us all. I will keep praying that you get stronger every day. I know you will be doing great things in the future. Thank you SO much for the wonderful example you are setting.

Hey Colton!

It sounds like things are going GREAT!

I will be in Comfort for a workshop from Monday 9/28 through Thursday 10/1. I am going to ditch out on the fancy schmancy sit-down dinner one evening so I can come see you....can you shoot me an email so we can discuss it? Please? I'm going to be in BIG trouble with the bosses if I am that close and don't check on you -- so you gotta help me out, k?

If my email address doesn't come through on this comment, your cousin Erica has my cell number.

Dude. I just gave you homework! It's just like old times, eh? heheheheee

Colton, so good to see this update & the fact that it was written by you makes it even better. WOW! considering the Paralymics already. If anyone can do it, it will be you. So glad to hear that you have moved into your own place w/ Jessica. Next up, Driver's Ed w/ hand controls!!!! If you took to the hand cycle that quickly, you'll do fine w/ the hand controls in your car. Keep up the good work. I'll keep checking here for the updates. Keep them coming.

Hey Colton, good to hear your doing so great! I think you should ask for a vette with hand controls! I saw 60 min's the other night and it had a story on a guy with robotic legs, the guy who had them on could practically run with them and he raved how he loved them. Technology has come so far! Glad to hear you and Jessica are back in a house, that has to be nice. Take Care and keep the site going! =)

Colton and family,
I'm Staff Sergeant Robert Garcia, an Early Warning and Control Systems Journeyman at March ARB in Riverside. I have been following your amazing story for months and am thrilled to see your words. I wrote a book called "Aiming Higher: One Man's Guide to A Better Life". You are listed in the end dedications as one of my heroes. I hope to give you a complimentary copy when it is completed. All of us at the 701st are behind you and don't hesitate to look me up if you ever need anything. Thanks. I'm on Myspace and Facebook.

Colton and Jessica,

First and foremost allow me to thank you for your honorable service. As a daughter of a 20 year veteran there were many days I didn't see my father growng up but because of his duty I am afforded the luxury of living in a protected society resulting from his sacrifice. There is not a week that goes by that I don't think of your story from the moment I read it when it first broke.

Although the mistake causing this unfortunate tragegy was unforgiveable the manner in which you've both handled it is even more unbelievable. I'd like to think I would have the same courage and positive attitude but I can't say many of us would. I'm not having the best year myself but when I'm feeling low I immediately put the brakes on and think of everything you been through thus far and yet to come. It's apparent you love each other, have faith and the foundation for what it takes to make a real difference in this world. I'm sure you will use your leadership by example to do just that.

Thank you for all the updates on your progress. My business partner have been following them and I are committed to aiding your cause through a new venture we are starting. In addition I, along with every american out there, should ensure you are both taken care of properly. We all know that the squeaky wheel gets the oil so I'm putting out a challenge.... WRITE YOUR CONGRESSMAN AND SENITOR. I am doing this and challange every one who reads this to do the same!!! Politicians often come out with initial support then get busy and can be easily distracted. They can't however ignore thousands of letters! Contact me if you don't know how to get started...Together we can never make it right but may make it a litle better.

Coltin, you and your family have my prayers and continued support from this day forward.

Colton, So wonderful to read the update from you! You have proven to be such an inspiration and living proof that God does work miracles and gives us the strength and determination we need in this crazy ride called life.

How great! The Paralympics! Sounds like a great time and my 3 girls play volleyball (2 high school, varsity level, 1 jr. high) and dearly love the sport! I can't wait to share with them your new way to play! They will be amazed and inspired! I'm sure your kills and digs would give them a run for their money!!

I'm sure you can feel the love surrounding you daily with prayers, emails, letters, phone calls. Your spirit and attitude are infectous.

Sending much love and support from us here in Ohio. Anxiously waiting for more news and paralympic info.!

I heard about you a while ago and again this past week in a briefing..You have gone through a lot and I just want to wish you all the best..thanks for having such a positive attitude and sharing your story with the world. I am sure you will have many challenges but keep up that positivity, push yourself and you will go far. Remember that Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
