New Wheels 08/29/2009

Today, Colton and I got a new vehicle. Thanks to everyone who has donated to Colton, we were able to trade in our Ford Focus and get a new GMC Acadia, which will hold his wheel chair and other equipment. The new vehicle is being fitted Tuesday for hand controls, so that when Colton is able, he will be able to drive! We can't say thank you enough to everyone who has donated money to Colton and I. We are so appreciative. Colton is doing physical therapy at the CFI everyday and goes on their weekly outings into the community. Coltons mother, Shelly, stepfather, Joseph, and siblings Keegan and Faith were able to come visit this weekend from Ohio. We are so thankful to be around such great family.

Colton and Jessica,
I am so happy to hear things are progressing so well and so quickly. I am glad you are both getting all the equipment squared away. Again, if you need anything please let me know. Also if Colton ever needs information on para-olympic sports I have just the guy to tell him all about it! Give each other a hug from me. Keep us posted!

Coton and Jessica my prayers and best wishes go out to you in this most difficult of tragedies. I firmly believe that with your mutual love and that of your families you shall overcome. Just know that the world as well as your brothers and sisters in uniforms of various colors are all pulling for you.

Best wishes to you both, Emil Hryniw,

That's great you got a new car already for him to drive when he is ready. I'm always thinking about you guys! Thanks for updating the site. Colton is going to be one of those story's that show him out jogging one day, he'll get a story on 60 minutes for sure!

I've recently heard your story and I just wanted to say I'm glad to hear you're doing well. After reading everything, I agree with Jessica...when it comes down to complaining about the minor things in life...you feel dumb after knowing that someone such as yourselves can stay so positive at a time like this. You're bravery, strength, and willingness to push forward and stay positive is truly inspiring...I know I will be thinking twice about complaining for no good reason lol :)

Our prayers are with you always.

To Colton,

I just wanted to say that I'm proud of you for keeping your chin up. You have a long life ahead of you. Though I can't say I know what you're going through, I can say that from everything your wife writes, and with the love you have for your family and country, I know you'll make the most out of life.

You are an inspiration to people not only around Travis AFB, but to people around the world, now. I hope to hear good things in the future. Best wishes to you and your family.
